Cae Glas won the toss and put the visitors into bat. Conditions became tricky as the game continued through heavy rain. Shaun Southern (2 for 23) and Ollie Pope (1 for 14) both took wickets but Forton looked set to build a sizeable at the halfway mark with wickets in hand.
The introduction of Nick Chesters changed the game as he removed the Forton middle order and finished with figures of 5 for 55 off 14 overs. Forton pegged back to finish with 154 for 8 off their allocated 45 overs.
A second wicket partnership between Pete Bowyer (19) and Ollie Pope (17) put the Glas in a promising position to push for victory, but Forton’s Alam Khan (3 for 20) halted momentum and it was left to a 6th wicket partnership between Chesters (14 not out) and Southern (16 not out) to bat out for the draw with the home team finishing 126 for 6
