Yet another intrepid innings from Pete Bowyer (37) helped seal the points again for Cae Glas II. He was well supported by Gavin Porritt, Tim Smith and others but the home side could only reach the lowly total of 111. It’s fair to say the Willey bowling attack was good and our lads did well just to survive the full 45 overs.
In reply the Willey batsmen never got going. This was largely down to some nifty catching by the home side (8 in all!) including a magnificent diving catch in the slips from our old-timer Andy Kemp. This left Shaun Southern with figures of 6 for 25 and Matt Coulson with 3 for 34, both off 12 over. The away side were all out for just 99.
It was a very welcome 24-point win for Cae Glas II, having lost the toss.
