The 1sts push for promotion faltered on Saturday when we could only manage a losing draw against Church Aston at the Bowring in Telford.

Batting first, the home side made steady progress to post a challenging 169 for 7 in their 40 overs. Yappy (3-40) and Tim T (2-59) were the pick of the Cae Glas bowlers, with 2 run outs from Aled Roberts pegging back the Aston batsmen.

In reply, the Glas made a solid start with Toothy (46) and Andy G (28) putting on 68 for the first wicket, but a flurry of quick wickets in the middle order stalled the run chase until Gaz (21) and Keith (20), got the chase back on track.

Unfortunately, when both were dismissed in quick succession in the 35th and 37th over, the chase was effectively over, meaning we had to settle for a draw and a meagre 8 points.
