The 2nds made it three wins in a row in our penultimate home fixture of the season.

Visitors Tibberton II were asked to bat first and it was the consistent quality of the home bowling, for the umpteenth time this season, that made things hard for our opponents from the start. Tibbo soon stood at 48 for 5, having lost their prolific opening bat and captain Mike Jenkins for only 16, and were staring at an early return to East Shropshire.

Waqqas Hussain, however, had not read the script and smashed his way to 62 before falling to an excellent catch by Woody off the bowling of Gavin. After his departure the innings fell away and Tibberton closed on 131 all out. Chief destroyer was the aforementioned Gavin (4 for 38), but there were also the now customary tight opening spells from Stav, (3 for 20) and Shaun (2 for 31) which set The Glas on their way.

In reply, despite a cultured opening spell from the evergreen Dave Williams (2 for 25), Nick C took the game to the opposition, racing to his fifth half-century of the season before falling for 52 with his job well done. George C (36 not out) and man- of-the-match Gavin (37 not out) then brought things to a conclusion in some style by hitting the winning runs with a mighty 6!
