Cae Glas I v Beacon I – 12 July

Cae Glas I entertained another of the league leaders at Gatacre on Saturday and once again proved they are more than capable of competing at this level.

Having won the toss, and invited the visitors to bat, Beacon made steady progress, but lost wickets regularly as they compiled 163 for 9 in their 40 overs.  Ruch took 2 for 34 with Yappy 2 for 31 doing the damage for the home side.  Once again, Toothy bamboozled the opposition with his spin as he weighed in taking 3 for 43 and mopping up the tail.

The bowlers were assisted by an excellent fielding display from the home side.

In reply, Cae Glas battled through to 149 for 9 as they struggled to establish a partnership to challenge the total. The pick of the batsmen were Gaz who made 45 and keeper Pete Matthews who made 20.

Joel Bishton was the pick of the  visitors bowling attack with 3 for 17.
