What a pair of posers! Woody admires his first half century of the season….

After losing the toss Cae Glas made a steady start against some good swing bowling from the Willey attack. The breakthrough was made when Mark Jones was bowled off his pads by Hatton – at this stage Willey had the opportunities to make inroads into the Cae Glas batting, but dropped catches cost them dear. A 127 second wicket partnership between Simon Wood (57) and George Candler (46) saw the hosts gain momentum and close on a testing 152 for 3 of their 40 overs.

In reply Matt Coulson tore into the visitors’ batting with a destructive spell of bowling, his 5 for 36 removing the top order and leaving the visitors clinging on.

Unfortunately we were unable to take the final Willey wicket and a dogged innings from Pritchard (11 not out) secured a draw for the visitors. The game will certainly be remembered for the plummeting temperatures!

Match result: Cae Glas winning draw 16 – 3
