Cae Glas needs you – as a coach!

Pete would like to hear from all budding coaches

Linked in with the pavilion refurb, is the need to have the club registered under Clubmark. This is a scheme operated by the ECB through our local Shropshire Cricket Board that clubs go through in order to ensure that they measure up against set standards of operation.
Understandably, this includes ensuring that clubs have a junior section which allows full participation for all boys and girls who wish to play cricket. This has been one of our areas of weaknesses in the past which we’re keen to rectify.
A junior section can’t be created out of thin air! Fortunately, Woodside School will be participating in SCB’s ‘Chance to Shine’ coaching programme this winter. Qualified SCB coaches will be running the sessions but we hope to have some input too.
Although we have a number of coaches qualified to ‘Level 1’ we need to have more members participating in the updated coaches scheme, which means that volunteers will now go straight in at Level 2. The next available coaches’ course starts in the New Year with these provisional dates:
Wednesday 27th January (6.30pm-9.30pm)
Sunday 7th February (9.30pm-4.30pm)
Sunday 14th February (9.30pm-4.30pm)
Sunday 21st February (9.30pm-2pm)
Sunday 28th February (9.30pm-4.30pm)
Venue is tbc but is likely to be Ercall Wood Technology College, Wellington, Telford
PLEASE GIVE THIS SOME SERIOUS THOUGHT! The club will pay the cost of the course providing that anyone undertaking it completes all modules – if not the club will only pay half the cost (£125).  Contact Pete asap if you wish to do the UKCC2 Course.
