No surprise to once again lose the toss and be asked to bat first in very windy conditions. Not ideal with a side full of bowling but shy in batting. Having said that 136-8 was an excellent performance with 2 notable partnerships. Steve Dakin (18) sharing 38 with Elliot Coulson(15) and Dave Smith(36) putting on 44 with Barry Vaughan(10) which including excellent running and welcome boundaries. Skipper Gary Croft had a good day in the field with 2 wickets and 2 catches. In reply Condover cruised to victory thanks to the well established opening pair of Mike Rogers with 48 and Sam Brooks with a fine 68 not out. A mixture of solid defence and the ability to put away the occasional bad ball for a boundary proved very effective in a 9 wicket victory in glorious sunshine. Next weeks game is away at Allscott Heath.
