Aug 22 – Church Stretton v Cae Glas I

Had to cut this photo out of another one – just to catch Tim looking relaxed….

The firsts’ topsy turvy season took another turn away at Church Stretton on Saturday, as the toss again proved crucial on a wet and green wicket. Having lost the toss and being invited to bat, Cae Glas found it difficult to impose themselves on tight Stretton bowling and they struggled to 109 for 7 in their 40 overs, with Tim T again showing good form with a well struck 35, while Gaz with 30 runs, and Griffer (20) were the other main contributors.

In reply Church Stretton took advantage of some lax Cae Glas fielding with two dropped catches proving crucial as Stretton opener Savvy Khalid rode his luck to reach 49 in an opening stand of 60 which set the basis for a comfortable 8 wicket victory as Stretton closed on 110 for 2.
