The firsts were in stunning form as they stepped up their league challenge by skittling out Church Stretton for just 23 in a 10 wicket romp!
After putting Church Stretton in to bat, the Glas were soon in charge in a remarkable day in south Shropshire which left club statisticians believing that the low scoreline was a new club record.
Over the years, the Russells Meadow ground has proved a graveyard for many a Cae Glasian player, but the tables were turned in dramatic style during this encounter.
The opening spell from Tom Gardner and Keith Yapp rocked a Stretton batting line up that had no answer to their accuracy.
Skipper Yapp blowled a miserly spell of 14 overs, which yielded 5 wickets for 6 runs and included 8 maidens.
At the other end, Gardner was equal to his captain as he finished with figures of 3-16, leaving a tormented Stretton reeling at 5-7, then 15-9 and eventually bowled out for a paltry 23.
Our reply was swift as we knocked off the runs in just 14 balls to finish the game before 4pm, closing on 25-0 with Ben Oakley 12 not out.
