Cae Glas I vs Ellesmere I – September 13th

Cae Glas conspired to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in their local derby against neighbours Ellesmere on Saturday.
After turning in one of their best fielding and bowling performances of the season to dismiss the visitors for 114, stand in skipper Stuart Eyres must have felt confident at tea, with Tim Turner having returned figures of 5 for 14 and Ruch Nimantha 3 for 35 in an excellent first half to the game. Baja, 35 and Duncan a watchful 20 been the pick of the visitors batting performance.

Things started well for the home side as a stand of 31 for the first wicket followed by a stand of 60 for the second allowed Cae Glas to advance to 93 for 1, skipper Eyres making 37 and in form Gareth Edgerton making 23, but then a Cae Glas collapse of biblical proportions saw 9 wicket fall for 16 runs as some suicidal batting combined with the introduction of Cowey and Bajaj to the attack resulted in figures of 5 for 19 and 4 for 4 respectively , as Cae Glas were dismissed for 109.
