Match action on what turned out to be a sunny day of cricket

The picturesque Lilleshall ground – the batting was just as picturesque!

On Saturday the 2nds travelled to top of the table Lilleshall. The strip was damp after heavy rain on Friday, and so losing the toss suggested this was going to be a tough day for the visitors, and so it proved. Despite a magnificent 66 from opener Pete Bowyer the Glas struggled to 123 for 7 off the reduced 40 over allocation.

A couple of early wickets from Dave Smith and Nathan Bartram gave the Glas hope, but James Gant (58 not out) and Greg Munslow (31 not out) guided Lilleshall to a convincing 8 wicket victory with 13 overs to spare.
Cae Glas will be buoyed by a promising debut performance from Mike Edwards and a first half century of the season for Pete Bowyer.
